Why do we get stressed in the first place

  • we tend to fuel our emotions through our thinking (i.e. anger, chat to ourselves and makes us more angry, etc.)

We have a choice with stress, we can carry things around with us or we can choose to let go of it because we cannot change it.

Often feelings fuel feelings > Frustration fuels frustration. We get distracted by thinking.

Multiple times a day do this exercise and remind yourself how you feel.

Trying to get a nice steady flow of the visualisation

What are the emotions of stress, how are those feelings maintained. Need to know the feelings so we can recognise them and let go of them.

What emotions do I tend to chase after in life?

There is likely to be a range of emotions you don’t like, it’s good to be clear in your mind what they are so when they do come around you are aware and can let go of them.

This exercise is about maintaining a certain sense of focus. When we let go of a distraction, resting the mind in the present.

Be clear about what emotion is at play at the time of doing a meditation exercise.

Between what is happening and what we want to happen is stress. Understanding that allows us to let it go
