2 important lessons

1) At critical moments in our lives we will hear multiple voices competing for our attention 2) It is vital that we listen to the right ones

We live in a world where many voices seek for our attention. It is difficult to know which voice to trust.

  • Crowdsourcing
  • Follow what is convenient
  • Just don’t make a decision
  • Reason it through and rely solely on our own thinking

These approaches are not always reliable.

If we spend too much time in faithless places seemingly well intending voices deprive us from the spiritual welfare we need.

Gave example of Corihor as someone leading people away.

How does this apply to my life…

  • I struggle to make decisions
  • Other peoples opinions matter

Heavenly Father makes it possible for us to hear his voice, most often through the Holy Ghost. The Spirit speaks to different people in different ways and may speak to the same person in different ways at different times.

We find out Fathers voice in many places

  • When we pray
  • When we attend church
  • When we go to the Temple

When we hear His voice we need to follow the direction that it is leading us.

Sometimes we don’t get answers because:

  • It’s not right time
  • Answer is not needed
  • God trusts us to make the decision ourself

We need to decide which between all the different voices we will obey.

It is possible to hear and follow H/F voice.
